BLOOMINGTON - The Romeoville Spartans put the Edwardsville Tigers in catch-up mode with a pair of goals less than 90 seconds apart midway through the first half.The Tigers couldn't catch up. Romeoville cruised to a 4-1 victory over Edwardsville in the Class 3A Bloomington Super-Sectional to advance to the state tournament for the first time in program history. 'Those two goals were killer. It dictated the whole game,' EHS coach Mark Heiderscheid said. The Tigers end their season at 17-6-2, one win shy of the program's 10th state tournament appearance and first since 2019 when it finished in third place.
